Things to know about Gandia of Costa Blanca

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Astonishing beach of GandiaCosta Blanca is one of the most rushing destinations in Spain. It is the favorite vacation spot by the foreign tourists particularly the British people. Since you could not tour Costa Blanca in just one day, it would be nice if you start your journey around the province with your guided list of itinerary.
Start it with Gandia. Though this is the least attractive resort amongst Costa Blanca when you base it with the tourist’s best choice however, still it has the beaches that you could never imagine it exists. The glimmering golden beaches to the main of the town are considered first class while the rest of the resorts are very much themed to the Spanish tourism and some of its bars and restaurants are owned by the tourist’s people. If you want to eat to some of the food chains because you feel like eating burger you could visit McDonalds and Burger King. You could find them by strolling around the Playa Nord.

Just to remind you, the town of Gandia is never been appointed as a tourist destination in Costa Blanca but it is a vibrant, working town. In spite of it all, Gandia is a great place to wander around if you want to see other parts of Costa Blanca aside from its beaches. The place is not monotonous because there are also other interesting things to see and discover around Gandia. One of the must see icon in Gandia is the 14th century Palacio Ducal de los Borja. If it is your first time to tour around Gandia, a tour guide is recommended. The tour would take in every half hour and a break for lunch in between 1pm and 4pm that if during the winter season, but in summer you would have a break around 5pm.

Another interesting place to discover in Gandia is the Passeig de les Germanies. It is a tree lined boulevard with benches and fountains. It is the favorite hangout with the local pensioners. You can take your time recuperating your mind here, and see around the beauty and vibrancy of Gandia.

Our tour of Costa Blanca started with visiting hundred of acres of orange grooves and few pick to enjoy in between this time. The mountains that surround Gandia and Oliva are also magnificent and enticing to gaze at especially during dusk and almost sunshine hours. The orange picking is actually a rare opportunity that was offered in our tour deals and we truly enjoyed it.

And the whole group felt like dressing on gowns as we stalk the castles past of Jativa. A day is not enough in gallivanting around the white coast. Everything seems to pass so fast and there are still so many things to do. I would had loved to experience riding a ferry going to Majorca and Ibiza from Denia and at the same time enjoy the marina culture in the place. The seafood and Spanish food servings here are really to the satisfaction of everyone. You only have to get a good pick, mind you.

We love feeling the sea air in some rocky beaches along Denia though on the southern part of the place sandy beaches are available for all to enjoy and some are for free. Imagine swimming and enjoying a day’s sun without any fee a tall. All you need to do is pack a great heap of food from your accommodation refrigerator and carry it on the bach for a day’s picnic.

Or perhaps spend one day in each of these beautiful beaches from Denia, Moira, Calpe, Benidorm. I haven’t even mentioned terra Miticia, Elche, and Altea villages.
