Costa Blanca, one of the rushing regions of Spain garnered millions of tourists every year. There are millions of tourists visiting Costa Blanca annually and most of them are coming from the different parts of the world especially the British people. It is a fact that Alicante features amazing and interesting topographies but the other reason aside from it is its amazing and unique annual festivals. The events or festivals in the region are important to them because it is where the history of the primary religion that they have which is Catholicism emerged.
The annual festivals to be celebrated in the region are the history of the Moors and Christian as well as the summer festivals. Every month of April particularly in the town of Alcoy, the people of the town will build a paper-mache castle in the town plaza. The locales will then re-enact the history battle in between the Christian and Moorish leaders. During the first day of the festival, the locales will participate on the dynamic colored parades going to the town of Alcoy. The people will wear their best costumes of which they made it on their own. During the event, it is noticeable that the locales would want to wear Moor’s costumes since they are more colorful and unique.
On the second day of the event which is the St. George Day, it would be the religious part of the region that would be remembered by many. The celebration would kick off from removing the historical Saints from the Santa Maria Church and returning it to the temple. At the evening there would be a stunning firework display, it would be an event full of life and amazing memories for the tourists.
And during the last day of the festival there would be a furious re-enactment battle in the street of the town in between the Christians and the Moors. Before the noontime, the drama would re-enact that the Moors had succeeded to take the castle but after the appointed child dressed as St. George the Christian people regained their strength and took back the castle which ends the story and the battle as well.
