Costa Blanca beaches

Costa Blanca , with its striking mix of sandy beaches and top-of-the-line resorts, has somehow managed to fuse the sophistication of city life and the simplicity of nature into one of the most beautiful coastlines in Europe. The water knows no age, nationality, or religion; people from all walks of life flock to Costa Blanca to bronze their bodies and bask in the sun. When evening strikes and the moon is hung beautifully against the dark sky, many like to lie back on the sand and look at the twinkling stars.

There is over 100 kilometers of sandy beach from Valencia in the north to Murcia in the south, best known for the Blue Flags they have been given. The Blue Flag Awards are presented by the European Federation of Environmental Education (EFEE) every year, in recognition of the excellent quality of water and amenities.

From the famous beaches to the isolated coves and bays, Costa Blanca has an overabundance of sun and sea entirely devoted to the sun worshipper and the consummate beach bum.

Valencia , dubbed as The City of Light, is ablaze with gorgeous sunshine 2,600 hours per year, and is just one bus ride away. With its stable temperatures and gorgeous scenery, including one of the best regatta fields in Europe, Valencia is an excellent location for water sports and sailing.

To the north of the Valencia, beaches are the sun spots for the young and frolicsome. This is the place to flaunt that bikini and show some skin. For some beach action, you might want to join in on the swimming, diving, sailing, windsurfing or para-gliding adventures of the locals and tourists.

To the south are the more quiet beaches - its perfect for those who just want to spread out a blanket on the sand, play their favorite CD, lay back reading a good book, while the surf soothes one s entire senses.

El Recati is a long stretch of sandy beach situated within a residential zone, hence, most of the beachcombers are residents of the area. Playa de la Devesa is a rural beach on the outskirts of town. One of the most popular urban beaches of Valencia is Playa de Levante , also known as the Malvarrosa Beach , with a bathing zone especially designed for the handicapped beach-goers.

Meanwhile, the Alicante coastline is lined by a famous walkway that leads to the cafés and restaurants of the city. In Javea , there are 25 kilometers of sandy beaches framed by palm trees and promenades. And, down south in Dénia , in an area named Les Rotes , are 20 kilometers of coastline with rocks and coves that fishermen and divers frequent. Some of the beaches in Benidorm are crowd favorites in Europe.
