Benidorm is very much accessible from every major city in Europe, through the nearby El Altlet International Airport, just 10 km from Alicante, only an hour’s drive from Benidorm. Usually taking no more than two hours, flights regularly connect every major city in Europe to the airport.
Amenities abound at the airport for your convenience -- there are bars, restaurants, fast food outlets, and some shops, including duty-free. For quick financial transactions, there are ATMs and currency exchange facilities just nearby. Exclusive for first and business class passengers, a VIP lounge is available for good measure, where one could choose to fax, photocopy or browse the Internet capabilities. The airport is also sensitive to the disabled - very good facilities are available to those with special needs. It is advisable to inform their airline or travel agent in advance to avail of such.
From Alicante, the way to Benidorm should be extremely easy. Buses regularly ply on the good connecting road every 30 minutes or so. Outside the airport’s arrivals area, taxis are readily available for hire. Package tour operators arrange transportation in advance, making it more convenient. Moreover, one could book car hire companies which are so well-represented at the airport. Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar and National are just some. Travelers are also given a choice between arranging to pickup and drop off rental cars at the airport or at an off-site location.
Convenient bus routes, all 12 of them, link points all over the resort. The buses regularly depart to and fro nearby towns and cities. Along the coast, ecstatic train rides on a narrow-gauge railway intersects between Alicante and Denia. Sufficient taxis and cars for hire are also all over Benidorm, efficient and reasonably priced.
