Just a distance from the town center, Aqualandia is where everyone from ages 1 to 100 could frolic and get all wet and wild! The splashy theme park would certainly drown your worries away, with its extensive offerings of assorted shutes, springboards, pools, rapids, waterfalls and exhilarating slides. Themed areas include Pistas Blandas, the Laguna, Niagara, Splash, the Big Bang and the Kamikaze, with lush foliage planted around for good measure. Also available are bars, shops, restaurants, showers and lockers etc. Children will enjoy the animals and wildlife.

Mundomar on the other hand, is a world-renowned dolphinarium housing no less than the most varieties of dolphins as well as numerous other animals such as parrots, flamingos, turtles, sea lions, bats, penguins, a children's park, and a galleon. From the perspective of a galleon submerged under the waters, visitors could afford a splendid view of marine life. Not to worry because the park is laden with several refreshment kiosks. Mundomar is closed from December 12th, 2005 to February 10th 2006. Tel: (0034) 96 586 9101 / 02

Spin through time and enter a nostalgic period in history at the Medieval Tournament. At this theme park, time stands still as the visitor seems to live and breathe in the Middle Ages, be it clowning with jesters or singing with serfs. There’s even a feast Middle Age style, plus an engaging duel up the park’s sleeves. Fun could get no greater than classic old world joys.

In Benidorm, adjacent to the village of Sella, 33 kilometers inland, one gets to see elephants, lions, tigers and many more wild animals. This is the Aitana Safari park. Unlike Vergel, this one is open all year, every day from 11 am.

For a prickly theme, visitors could trail around Cactuslandia, a huge private garden sheltering and nurturing succulents and cacti. This is the initiative of a German businessman who first planted over 1000 different species on a site developed on a cliff 40 years ago. Presently, there are 3000 m2 of gardens divided into two areas. One displays enormous numbers of cacti and the other exhibits tropical plants such as mango trees, guava trees, papayas and bananas. Nearby, one could choose to visit the Natural History Museum with an impressive collection of fossils, shells, corals, insects and the like.
