Beaches |

| Benidorm's two beaches, the Playa de Poniente and the Playa de Levante are about 5 km long in entirety. The two are separated by a rocky peninsula where the primary old village still stands. A main road of the town, usually with heavy traffic, is mainly along the Playa de Poniente Beach . Hence, for a quiet and relaxing time at the beach, you should go for the Playa de Levante .

Reputed as possessing one of the most superlative beaches there are in the world, Benidorm unwaveringly makes coherence as a great resort town. Six kilometers of a strip of heavenly coastline, they come anyway one wants them - tiny or leviathan, secluded or conspicuous, placid or hedonistic. Vast sands and secluded coves abound for everyone to bask in. Existing to sate diverse tastes, Benidorm’s fabulous golden crescents have always achieved approval without reprieve, so much so that these beaches are annually granted the prestigious Blue Flag label. These honors are given regularly by the European Union to the cleanest and most bankable, beautiful beaches all over the continent. Clean, golden beaches with sapphire waters - these are Benidorm’s. These beaches luxuriously stretch from Playa de Levante Beach in the east to Poniente Beach in the west, spectacular all the time. These two main beaches are separated by the Old Town. In addition, the two are equipped with leisurely promenades, sunbeds and parasols for hire all year round.
Renowned as the Sunrise Beach, this sandy piece of paradise has every reason to be so aptly named so. Playa de Levante is situated east of the Old Town and stretching to the Rincon de Loix, with about 2 miles of crystal waters and golden sand. It is the ultimate holiday hub for sun worshippers and social movers. At peak season, visitor influx may make the area dense. Not to worry, since thousands of sun beds, about 5000 of them, jut nearby.
Playa de Levante only flanks the urban area - it’s accessible to scores of hotels and other services. The busy promenade, filled to the brimful by cafés, terraces, sporting bars and restaurants, runs parallel. At night, the promenade raises its lively vibe to pitch high.
The beach’s fine, clean sand gently slopes into the water, making it a safe bathing sanctuary for the fearless and the less confident visitor. Added amenities include swinging bridges, diving boards, rafts, and slides, out the sea. Lifeguards regularly rove the area.
Very accommodating to families, this beach could be trusted for its sensitivity to children. Huge, conspicuous picture boards to be used as meeting points are all around Levante Beach. Through the initiative of the Council, parents could arrange to meet their offsprings under such signs, of which not one is identical with another.
Adolescents would definitely find Levante Beach’s intense social vibe a crescendo. Here they come to see and be seen. Good times keep rolling in here, as the surf does. Each morning, the sand is thoroughly cleaned up, ensuring sand for fun over and over again.

To the south of the harbor, there lies the quieter but not any less comely Playa de Poniente. Three kilometers of this beautiful golden curl extend west from the Old Town until La Cala. Close to the Old Town, the beach and its fine golden sand gently slopes into crystal-clear waters. A long promenade also borders the beach, which is extremely accessible and convenient to the many services available.
Unlike Playa de Levante, the intensity here is noticeably reduced and more laid back. Getaways that are less hectic and dense have Poniente Beach as a fitting alternative. Here, the average visitor could while away time unruffled, reading a good book, sunbathing or what have you. Families, teenagers, and all of humanity are well catered for here at Poniente. Disabled customers also can avail of stealthy support provisions.

A whole plethora of sunbeds are available plus loads of functioning facilities close at hand. The said beach does not garner a Blue Flag for nothing - the sand is impeccably clean each morning, thanks to regular spotless clean up.

Beneath majestic castle cliffs, Mal Pas Beach is the smallest and less populated than the two main beaches. Otherwise known as the Mal Pas cove, this area is a site of fine sands and same crystal waters. Canines are not allowed here and the beach certainly has more tranquil than the two main beaches.
Up north, Ti Ximo and La Almadrava are hidden natural coves with a magnificent, rocky seabed in store for its scuba-diving visitors.
It is to be noted that undercurrents are extremely dangerous.
